Air houseing??

I have a stock 305 TBI right now, I am thinking of gettting headers for it this summer. I have heard that the air intake on these things is nothing of what it should be. I have made a ram air/cold air intake out of the dryer vent hose that was in the tech/mods section. I was wondering what I can do to make this better. I don't use this intake all the time because of rain and dirt. If anyone knows how to improve upon the stock intake/air cleaner houseing please let me know. I have heard about the dual intake houseing but I would like to know of any other options.
