Need Help With Timing Please...

well i went to make sure my timing was good on my 84 TA and i can't....in the haynes manual it says to disconnect the EST connector...well i can't find mine, when i search the forums i found some pics of it on the pass side by the firewall/fender corner, but in the book it says it's by the brake booster...i can't find this connector in either spot. the only connector i can find is my ECM power connector...so i don't unplug anything and try and i can't see the mark for the timing, i even marked the line with white paint....so can someone please help me out here???

BTW it's 84 TA L69 if that matters

Thank you.

If you want to set it to the "spec", you need to disconnect the 4-wire Weatherpak connector that hangs down out of the bottom of the dist at the back. Then start the car up, set it, turn the car off, and plug it back in.

Then when you realize your car probably doesn't run as good as it did before, you'll probably want to set it to where the car runs the best, which will usually be somewhere somewhat advanced from the stock setting.
