Any small block chevy will fit. As far as problems are concerned that depends on what you mean. Some concerns would be blocks with 2 piece real main seals (which use different flexplates/flywheels), different valve cover bolt patterns (parameter vs. centerbolt), intake bolt pattern (not too much of a problem since you can just elongate the center holes with a drill), or older heads which lack assessory holes. All will bolt in however. The main concern would be power level. Once you are making considerably more power you need to worry about everything in back of the engine like the tranny, rear diff etc.

305 strong no power.
well my 305 is strong but it , its codeing 45 and i put a new 02
sensor on, map, temperature, cleaned egr, cap, rotor. wires,
plugs, checked timming, vacume, oh and fuel filter. i also checked
fuel presure. it surges and bogs down when i try to pass. at a
stand still, you stomp it, it won't spin tires. it is a 1990 t/a speed-
density, no maf sensor. now i let a mechanic i know give it a try.
he says #8 plug is fileing out, and thinks its either, valves or
injecter. if so will new heads cure this, and can i use 350 heads.
thanks.

Well if you are doing the work yourself, the cheapest thing to do is pull the heads and get the valve work done. The heads on that 305tpi are casting #081. They are some of the best stock 305 heads out there. A little porting work while you have them off would be good also.
As far as the 350 heads, you can use them but they will need to be milled down pretty good or your compression will be super low. (Atleast from what I have read, this is not an area I know anything about).
