I can use this block right???
I'm picking up a 4-bolt main truck block on monday that was a factory roller cam block and has a one-piece rear main seal. This is totally interchangeable with the block that's currently in my 89 IROC-Z right?
Yes, the oil pressure and knock sensor ports should still be there, but if you're going from a 305 to a 350 you'll need a different knock sensor. The bracket holes should be there too.
The Gen II small blocks are the same except for the bore offered.

Thanks. I already got my 350 knock sensor so I should be set as long as I don't put a hole in this block too.

That one looks great Paul.
The GENII small blocks were of the LT1/LT4 designation (92-97) and there are actually a few differences, but the bore was the same except for the 4.3L V-8 (yes V-8) that was in a few Caprices that had a small bore.

Sorry, by Gen II I meant the new 87+ roller blocks w/ 1 piece rear main seals. I know the Gen IIIs are the new LS1 blocks, and I guess I forgot that Gen IIs are LT1 blocks.
When I said Gen II I meant the new 87+ roller blocks w/ 1 piece rear mains.
Sorry for the confusion,
Jason
