Question on Lifters

Alright, I finally picked up a L98 to build to replace my current L98. Since I'm going with a Lt4 hot cam kit, is it worth while to spend the extra money and get new lifters too? The lifters in there now look good but I don't know if I should replace them anyway.

Thanks

My understanding is that you don't have to replace the lifters on a roller cam. Less wear and tear.

if they pass visual inspection you can reuse roller lifters

Alright, that's kind of what I thought. It never hurts to verify though.

Thanks

Yea, like ede said, a visual inspection. I usually suggest that and rolling the roller on your finger or something to make sure it spins freely as well. If it passes both of those, it's good to go.

Inspect the old roller cam too. if any of the lobes show wear the lifter may be pooched too.

Other than that you should be able to reuse them.
You could even dissassemble them yourself and clean out any sludge, dirt or varnish buildup inside.
Just be sure not to mix up the parts.
