Car was running fine yesterday and I get in it toiday and turn the key and nothing and I mean nothing happens. The lights/and brights are burning fine...the radio/accessories sound good.I took the positive battery cable off and no corrosion...and tightened good.Is my starter gone?..Is there a quick way to check if its the starter or solenoid? Thanks for the help

if you know your way around the starter ... run a jump wire from + side of the battery to the lug that goes from the selinoid to the starter ... its a brass tab sticking up from the starter and bolted to the selinoid ... if it turns over you will know the starter side is ok ... if it dont then it can be a lot of things from the key switch to the selinoid ... let us know what you find ... tao

Do you have the pellet in the key? Did the security light come on and stay on until you released the key? Did the security light come on at all?
