Will a 4th gen gas tank fit into a 3rd gen?

Car: 96 Caprice, 86 IROC
Engine: One has an LT1, one has an empty bay
Transmission: T56
Will a 4th gen gas tank fit into a 3rd gen?
I know that the rear suspension is the same, and I assume that most if not all of the floorpan from there back is too, especially considering how easily 4th gen seats bolt into a 3rd gen, so, will a 4th gen gas tank fit a third gen?
