Pick a brand name and call that company. That is what they are in business for. Be TOTALLY honest with them on your intended purpose(s). I've run most name cams and the better known ones usually cost a little more but are usually worth the difference in all-out competition.
If you've never run "hot" big-block cams before, don't be shocked if they start recommending .580 to .620 lift ranges (or even more-I've had a couple solid lifter versions in the .680 range).
Make ABSOLUTELY sure you use the best (as recommended for the cam) springs (inner and outers), retainers, locks, pushrods, etc. as this is where a big block can cause you some problem. High(er) rpms are not user friendly to stock top end big blocks. They will turn some revs but you need the good stuff.
Again, talk to the cam companies.

BBC's like lift more than duration. I run a comp cams solid lifter (.560 lift) in my 427. The exact specs are on my page. Again, you want lift more than duration.

check out my page for all my motor specs. Your combo seems pretty close to mine. I picked up the Crane Powermax 286H. I'm also pulling the Performer manifold and replacing it with a single plane Holley Street Dominator. You are going to be putting matching valvesprings in aren't you?
