I got a 86 IROC with GMHP 350 Crate engine. Carbeurated. When I turn the engine off it continues too run for a little while. My tach also sticks at 7,000 when I turn the car off. Then when I start the car, the tach stays at 7,000 for a while then bounces back to the right rpms. Are these too thing related? Is it timing? It all started when I ran a buncha carb cleaner thru the carb. This didn't mess things up did it? Any help would be nice. Thanx

Hmmm...sounds like you have a run-on problem. This is known as 'Dieseling'. How long does it do it? Over a half-second is unacceptable. Not sure if it's related to your carb cleaner or not. Make sure it doesn't run hot, the carb is adjusted correctly, the timing's OK, among other things. The tach, well, GM Camao tach's kind of suck. Some read low, some high...I'm not sure on this either, but maybe you need to pull one out of a boneyard and see what it does...
