Spun Bearing?
hey, I got off the highway yesterday and I noticed my car is knockng. I han hear it at idle even. I checked the oil and its fine, the temp is fine too. Did I spin a rod bearing? I have like almost no power now (I have an L69) and the knock gets worse with the higher RPMS.
I parked the car yesterday and then fired it up this morning before work. I took it around the block and it seemed fine pwerwise until it got warm or normal operating temp then my power was gone again. If this is a bearing how hard would it be to replace without pulling the engine or what else could it be. (please tell me something easy to fix!) I just put a new t5 in the car and I'm really losing patients, it seems to be 1 thing after another.

most likely it might be a rod bearing. the same thing happened to me a couple months ago while i was driving. all of a sudden it just started knocking really loud and just got louder at higher RPM's. Even at idle it was a loud knock. I have no power either when i tried to gun it down the street......or at least until my rod went right through my oil pan......
very, you need to raise the engine pull the pan, pull the crank, if theres enough room, pull the piston, have the crank machined, rod resized and try to get it all back together. I dont know if you could even do it on a camaro. There might not be enough room.
if theres not a ton of damage you could just pull the pan unbolt the piston, try to get a new bearing in and pray..it may hold, but i'd sell the car.

Yeah sounds like a rod bearing. Trying to work on the lower half of the engine in a camaro is a ****ing bitch. You might as well just pull the engine and rebuild the whole thing unless your going to get a new engine.
