Removing plenum -- question
Removing plenum -- question
Vader has helped me out alot with this EGR project, however I hit a snag. I've got my strut brace off, the THERMAC is off, the throttle body is off, and 7/8 40-Torx bolts are removed from the upper plenum. The problem is with the last bolt (located driver side, middle) -- it's not a Torx bolt. It looks like a standard 10mm bolt with hard plastic tube jutting out of it, thus making my socket set useless. And my standard 10mm box wrench won't fit in the tight space. Any suggestions? Can I just cut that plastic down, so that I can use my socket? I'm not even sure what it does. My guess would be that it's some kind of bracket for the throttle cable that I'm not using.
After I get this last bolt off, the upper plenum should lift right out with a little elbow grease, right? Then it's EGR-swapping city.
