Friend is selling his 92 B4C. What's it worth?

Has 3,8xx miles on it. He's the original owner and has all the paperwork on the car including the window sticker that he had laminated. The owners manual and wheel lock key are still sealed up in a plastic bag. The car is as close to new as they come. L98/auto.

He's asking $15,000 obo. He's had it for sale for a while now. Is this too much?

The reason he hasnt sold it yet is becasue noone knows what it is...you tell an average car guy what the B4C camaro is and hell be like .....the car is worth that much easy, but its finding the guy that knows what it is and know whats it worth to buy it....

kinda like watching the barret jackin auction on speed not to long ago...there were a few cars there theat were 150,000 dollar cars and sold for 80-90 grand becasue the right guy wasnt there...the guy who knew what it was and what it was worth...

how is he advertising it?...just locally i assume...try an auto trader or something ebay maybe....

It's an 8 cylinder RS...I think 15k is a little too high but I would consider 12k. Just my 2 cents.

This is all too funny to me. A B4C, is somwhat Z28, somewhat 1LE.

Overall, its just a police car. Even in premo shape, its not worth $10k IMHO. I'd pay $7000 TOPS for said car. Its just simply not worth much more to the average buyer.

You just don't pay a high price for a option rpo on a car.

He's been offered more than $10k for it so I think you guys are a little off on the price.

Some people just want something for nothing. In my mind it is well worth $15 grand. It's a new car with GREAT performance--mid-14s EASY

But I'm the sort who wants to drive my car EVERYDAY, so I'd feel like a target out there with such a pristine Camaro

He should take the money and run. No such Camaro car line as B4C, its a option on a car. To a lot of people its just a plain jane RS Camaro, which it is.

He turned down the offer, not sure what the amount was.

The correct way to say that is, " an option" not "a option."

No matter how its stated, the car is a Plain Jane RS Camaro with a low volune RPO that most people would not want.

What does that have to do with anything?

Would the car be worth more if it were a Z-28? I actually like the plain jane look. Maybe thats why I own LX 5.0's

I wouldn't exactly call a B4C Camaro plain Jane. With only 592 made in 1992 it is a highly desireable model. $15,000 worth of desireable.......maybe not. But with only 3800 miles on it, I think its worth more than $10,000. If I was in the market I might go up to $12,000. But that's just me, I like drive a car that is rarer than most.

lol mid 14's? So what if it has low miles?

If he got offered 10k for it, tell him to take that, cause those aren't that nice.

While that car is certianly in outstanding condition, people will want a little bit more for 15,000. Around my area 15 large can get you a 10 sec rust free auto. Most people would not appreciate the rarity of the B4C option and would not view the car as old enough to be a classic. My opinion is that your friend would be wise to take that $10k.
