Almost Stalls when accelerating
1987 Camaro IROC Z-28 355ci with stock rebuilt 700R4
When coming to stoplights or stop signs, and I begin to take off (very conservatively) it will act like it's about to stall between 1000 and 1500RPMs just for a second, then it seems that the computer overcompensates and it jumps forward. After that it accelerates fine. Second gear 1000-1500RPms is normal. Also, while cruising if I let off the gas while in fourth gear the car decelerates more than usual.
Shutting the car off for a couple minutes then starting it up again seems to remove the symptoms of the problem.
My thinking is that it could be the torque converter not unlocking. I hear that you can unplug the 4-prong plug in the transmission and this would preven the TC from locking. Is this true? Can I drive around with the plug unplugged with no problems? Thanks.
Please correct me if my assumptions are incorrect.

Not sure on the Torque Converter however how long has it been since you replaced the fuel filter. Sometimes a clogued filter can cause a lack of fuel at low RPM and the engine will bog out on you.
