From non-roller to roller... is it possible?
Just curious as to whether or not it is possible to convert an older (60's, 70's) 350 to a roller block.
Anyone know how much it would cost/would it be worth it?
Thanks!

I am pretty sure you will need a roller cam, camshaft button (which rides along the timing chain cover), a different gear on the HEI (steal vs bronze), and you can use those lifters with the little bar that attaches two of them together instead of using the spider thing in the valley (that sounded odd).
Yes it can be done...

it's been done almost as long as the SBC has been around, just have to use aftermarket parts.

You cannot use a stock roller setup (GM) since you block is non-roller and has not had the material between the lifter bores machined. The allows room for the stock lifter keepers. Comp, and others, make aftermarket roller kits and use a new style keeper that works without machining.
