How can I tell a Lifter is Bad?
I had a tapping sound at 3 Grand rev and up. So , I opened the motor and I found that some of the hydrolic roller lifters are hard while others have a little bounce to them. When I stethiscoped the motor the tapping ended up to be by a lifter that was hard. Should all lifters have bounce? and have multiple lifters gone bad?

All the lifters should have some "bounce" to them. You can rebuild them, but I would just replace them all (to be safe if they're jamed up). Jeg's has a set of OE replacement from Crane for $169.99 (PN 270-10530-16). If they were still installed, then some of them could have had some lift from the cam, the vavle springs would have put alot of pressure on the lifter. Turn the motor over a couple degrees and see if they are really stuck. If the millage is high, then they might need to be cleaned up. Has the oil pressure been OK?

Jasper is replacing the all the lifters under warranty. How 5 lifters went bad is beyond me. They suggested a bad batch, but I don't know about that. I know they are Fed Mogel hi rev lifters.
