I have an 89 TA with a 96LT1 on a 94PCM..
have hedman headers..
when im driving around town and i let off the gas usually with clutch in or going down hill.. (free wheeling i guess..) i'll hear an annoying gurgling and sputter.. sometimes a small back fire.. and if i rev the engine on the decel it will do the same.. doesn't usally do it until it is warm.. looking for suggestions.. I did take a log of the pcm using freescan .. have some numbers.. don't understand them..
did a comp test on the cyl 1-3-5-7 (easy ones) and are 165-165-160-160psi ..
the plugs in all of these were black around the bottom of the threads.. and a slight golden brown but more white on the gnd term.. (i would say lean but not way way lean) ..
going to do other side when i have more time..
also have 1.6:1 rolelr rockers on it...
anyway.. if anyone has suggestions..

edit.. its a camaro 2 bolt block with Al heads.

 

Mine makes the same noise. Never really bothers me.

 

its driving me crazy.. u rev the thing.. vrooom.. then gargle.. blap pop.. crack..

 

can running lean do anything in that respect?
