Worth it to Port and did i make the right choice???

well to help out you have to know where im coming from. im young, havent felt any real power under my feet, and am building a pretty serious 383. i have now trickflow 23 heads bone stock.

first off i would like to know if it would be worth the $600 to get them hand ported and polished by a VERY good shop or (coming from my background with the measley 305 as "powerful") would i not notice much of a difference?
and second did i make the right choice on my head selection? i could have saved up a little longer and gotten some AFR's, and wish i would have, but coming from my background would i have noticed much of a difference with the afr's compared to the trickflows?

the car will see track when i can get there and i want to be in the mid 12's N/A at least (with the new tranny and rear) and low to high 11's with the spray. but mainly a import rippin street machine
