Cam Questions?

For My Lg4 can I just get a comp cams "k" kit and a cam swap set of gaskets and have everything that I need. If not what else?
If you couldn't guess this will be my first swap, any tips, suggestions, which cam etc?
thanxs.

That type of kit, plus the gaskets, will give you the majority of large parts you'll need. However, you'll have the water pump off; all sorts of hoses; and a variety of other misc things that are wear-out parts. It would be a great time to set aside your however-many-mile-old water pump and bolt back on a new one, etc. Plus you'll need a few special tools, notably a balancer puller.

The XE256 or XE262 are great in that motor depending on what you want to end up with. But no cam by itself will really live up to its full potential until you get a new exhaust system, from the heads to the street; those 2 things (cam & exhaust) are both pitifully undersized in that motor.
