Naw, the H-pipe is there to balance out the back pressure, it doesnt do very much for the sound. Everyone is either saying firing order, or bore x stroke specs. I'm thinking its just a combination of alot of things. The firing order, stroke, exhaust, etc. They are just diff. motors, so they are gonna sound diff. In the same way a big block sound way better than a small block.(just my opinion)

Car: Turbo Buick
Engine: 3.8 V6
actually a crossover pipe DOES change the sound quality, makes the car quieter, but deeper and smoother

its more the exhaust type than anything. A 302 through single exhaust sounds crappy too

I never noticed a difference between a H-pipe, and a regular dual setup. But you might be right, I can see where it might make a little difference in the tone. Guess I don't have a real keen ear.
