I'm assuming you're talking about stand alone? Holley has the commander 950 series. Accel has something I think. There's probably more.

The easiest then would be Stand alone fuel management. Look around at Holley's site, Accel's site, do some searching. I'm not sure how much these things run for.

Depending on whether you want a port injection or a tbi your looking at about 900-2500.

Hey kinda off topic but are there any good tracks up in cinnci?

I am a couple hours away but I thought about making a weekend trip there to do some aggressive skating and maybe go to the 1/4 mile track since all we have is a crappy 1/8th track.

The best solution is to use a DFI Gen 6. There are interface harnesses available to connect the DFI into your factory harness.

I have been using this for the past 6 years and has worked very well for me.

The F.A.S.T. system is essentially the upgraded version of DFI Gen 6. It offers options like wide band O2, windows based programming etc.

The older version is less expensive. I'm using Gen 6 with great success. I passed emmisions this year with my solid roller 406. I owe most of that to the real time programming that I was able to do.

I have never heard of any connection whatsoever between FAST and Accel. I therefore cannot believe that FAST has anything whatsoever to do with Accel DFI Gen 6. Sounds like fantasy land to me. And now of course, since Comp has bought FAST and since Mr Gasket has long since owned Accel, they are direct competitors in many areas besides just their ECM systems. No doubt one of them would have started legal action against the otehr, if there were any trace of "borrowing" of technology.

Are you trying to sell that obsolete Gen 6 so you can buy a current-model Gen 7, or what?

My mistake. I confused FAST with the Gen 7 DFI.
Thanks for the correction.

No I am not selling anything.

So i would need to run there wiring harness and all if i wanted the gen 7. I havnt really got into it much but could i illeminate most of the factory wires under the dash and all and rewire some after market gauges i always thought they tied into the ecm also on the factory setup.

ECMs and gauges have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. Their wiring is completely separate. The gauge wiring is part of the car, and passes through the firewall on the driver's side; the ECM wiring is part of the engine, and enters the passenger compartment to hook to the ECM on the pass side.

There's no way to eliminate "most of the factory wires" and still run EFI. The ECM has to hook up to a TPS, CTS, O2 sensor, iunjectors, etc. etc. etc., whether factory or aftermarket; so all of that has to either stay there, or be adapted. And of course the car still requires the headlights, heater, gauges, ignition, alternator, etc. etc. etc., so none of that is disposable.

Alot of the aftermarket units either use the factory connector, and therefore plug right in with maybe a pin change or 2 here or there depending on year model; or come with an adapter; or you can buy a complete harness, if your factory one is beyond revival or otherwise inappropriate. You'll just have to look through each of them's catalogs and figure out which is more appropriate for your situation.

I was meaning the wires under the dash. Ive put old cars together but never knew what was all ran to the ecm on our cars. Of course im not dumb enough to think i can get rid of the headlight wires and all that. I thought the speedo was hooked to our ecm some how also cause if you change ecm's i thought it messed up the speedo.
