shift light on the guage cluster

shift light on the guage cluster

since i pulled the guage cluster yesteday sunday night to install guage faces and new bulbs the shift light has been comming on then going off its light intermitten . if i take my foot of the gas it goes off immediately or if i go passed half down on the gas pedal it goes off as well. I drove it last night and the trans shifter fine ( its only 1 month old) . 2 weeks ago i did install a B+M shifter but the shift light didnt start until monday morning when i drove it. any ideas???

Bwaahahaha....easy fix. Take out your guage cluster and take the bulb out of the shift hole and put it back where you found it. The shift bulb is only used in stick cars. It is lit by the same circuit that auto cars use foor the TCC. Thus, whenever your TCC is locked, your shift light is on. There shouldn't have even been a bulb in there, you prolly mixed it up with the 'security' or 'brake' light and put it in the wrong hole.

thats prob. what happen. my brother put in the new bulbs. i will take care of that tonight. just wanted to make sure nothins wrong.

Ed, thanks for the info... didn't know that. Hm, a "TCC Lockup" bulb, eh? Maybe I'll stick one in!

i know this is a stupid question and im glad to provide a laugh. but i know how to work on the engiine stuff not all this elctronic crap
