It would depend upon what sort of mods you want to do, and how difficult a swap you're willing to tackle.
The ultimate would be an engine from a late model Escalade or Denali, but those are a gen3 engine and a PITA to swap.
I think the vortecs from 3/4 ton or bigger 93> would be 4 bolt.
The TBI trucks have crummy heads but the 87> have a roller block and the 3/4 ton and larger have the 4 bolt. If you were wanting to get aftermarket heads one of those would be okay.
You'll have to be more specific about what your needs, budget and resources are cause an "engine out of a truck" is pretty vague.

When yous ay "350", I'm assuming you mean a Gen. I SBC. That being said...
Vortec truck engines didn't get a roller cam until 96, when the Vortec induction system (heads and intake) came out.
Before that, they were machined for roller equipment, but still got hydraulic flat tappet cams.
IIRC, most trucks got 4 bolt mains.
the "010" casting is about as well known in the car world here as it gets. They came in trucks. Vortec blocks are the "880" casting. They are machined for retro rollers, have the 1pc rear seal and 4 bolt mains. I've got one of both.
As stated, what do you plan on doing? As far as mains go, for most street applications, either 2 or 4 bolt mains will suffice. Same with the fact that either it is or it isn't high nickle content. Doesn't REALLY matter for street cars. So in the end, it pretty much just comes down to factory-bastadized-roller or a flat tappet block. Because as far as a street setup goes, a block is a block is a block, for the most part.
As for what year as in induction system, like stated, that depends on your plans. If you plan a complete rebuild, then any old block will do. If you're looking for something with decent heads and whatnot, look for a roller Vortec block. You get decent heads and hydraulic roller hardware. You will get a nodular iron (versus standard gray) crank and PM rods (i think). Both are good to use in a rebuild, on a budget.
