What the hell is wrong with my oil pressure????!!!

Ok, a week ago, and ever since I had all my seals replaced (new pressure sensor/sender, and new switch, and rear main seal), it has been around 40.

Yesterday when I started it, the gauge said 50. That's fine, it does that sometimes when cold. But, it never went down. When I came to a stop, instead of going down a little like normal, it went UP! It did this the whole day, and I then noticed a small puddle on the ground of my parking spot...

So, what happened? Even though it's a quart down (just checked), the pressure is still around 50! Isn't that backwards?

the amount of oil in your engine doesn't relate to PSI, as long as you have oil in the pan.

Mine too has been acting strange lately.
30psi most of the time and then will spike to 60psi and sometimes sit there. May be a loose wire, but last week I noticed I was 2 quarts low.

mine has also been acting up. The oil pump was replaced with a new one about six months ago and the last month ive been trying to figure out what it's problem. It will drop to zero when I come to a stop when warm. I have to give my self lots of room to stop to keep it off zero. when it does hit zero it will come back to 30 shortly. Somedays it likes to dance it'll be at sixty and 30 and then tewak out for like 3 mins. Tried changing oil but no luck.

Going to replace the pressure sender hope that does the trick

Pickup fell off the oil pump. Drain the oil and tap on the bottom of the pan, most likely will hear it bouncing on the bottom of the pan. Can also use a coat hanger through the drain hole to fish around for the pickup.

Once it is verified that the pickup did truely fall off, then it's time to drop the pan again and have the pickup re-installed onto the pump.

Weld a nut to the bottom of the pickup "just in case". We do this with our engines to keep the pickup from falling out of the engine.
