Hokking up gauges

I want to order an air/fuel ratio gauge and an air temperature sensor and put that in my open element so I know how hot the air my engine is breathing is.

How hard is it to wire these gauges up? IS it a plug and play type deal?

depends on the guages you buy. the air/fuel guage could be a stand-alone unit which will require welding in an o2 sensor bung and installing the supplied o2 sensor and running the wiring, power and ground to the guage. Or, it could be a guage like the one on my TTA which ties into the factory o2 sensor signal to the ECM. the air temp guage will only require running the wires to the sensor, power and ground.
