Car is getting harder to start now??

i got my car in nov and it sat all winter. it was a little harder to start compared to my other camaro but not as bad as it is now. it's just cranking over and over for awhile til it starts. what could be wrong with it? also, it seems to blowing smoke out the exhaust, and it stinks kinda bad. i've tuned it up a few weeks ago. is it the starter or something? what could the smoke and smell be? hope you can help. it's kinda embarrasing sitting there trying to start the car like that like it's a piece of junk. thank you. oh, it's a 91 rs 305 tbi.

i dunno....mayby a clogged catylic convertor.
pull your plugs and check for fouling.
change your oil, due to it sittin there over a long period of time.
charge your battery...
check your timing..

If you get it started, just let it run for a while. Just might be the cob webs in her if she hasnt been started for awhile...but with the info that you gave, its kinda hard to go more in depth..

22,

Check the fuel pump operation. the pump should run for a couple of seconds when the ignition is first turned on.

YUou may also have an injector leaking down after the engine is shut off, flooding the engine for warm restarts. This is easy to monitor on a TBI by simply removing the air cleaner and observing the injectors after a warm shut down, or folding a piece of paper to fit under the injectors. If the paper gets fuel stained, you can guess that the injector(s) is leaking.

One way to compensate for a leaking injector is to crank the engine with the throttle partially open. If it starts better with a little throttle input, you porbably have excess fuel.

Vader, i looked at the injectors, and they don't seem to be leaking. it's hard to hear if the fuel pump kicks on cause my coolant fan comes on as soon as i turn the car to the on position, so can really hear. is there another way to check if it's the fuel pump? what are other symptoms if it is the fuel pump? thank you.
