Towing a thirdgen?????
ok i'm moving to st. louis next week, and i need to know the proper way to tow my car with a dolley from like u-haul. I cant leave it in park, i dont know about leaving it in neutral, what will happen. My dad said i will need to drop the driveshaft but who actually does that?

this may be a little dangerous, but couldn't u put the rear on the trailer and leave the front wheels on the ground?? with the power off the wheels locks and can't be turned, right?? in my owners manual it says to turn the wheel all the way to one side so no one can tow it from behind, i mean i really doubt u could do that but it's a thought

Just Tow It Backwards....
Kind of scary when it wiggles, but I towed my IROC from NJ to Pittsburgh on a tow dolly, with the rear wheels on the dolly. Just don't be pulling your car with something that weighs less than your thirdgen. If you decide to remove the driveshaft, remember to seal the end of the tranny where the drive shaft goes in or you will lose your tranny fluid.
There is a thread on here somewhere with a whole big debate on the subject.

i don't see what the whole debate would be about.
remove 4 bolts, remove driveshaft, tape caps on u-joint so they won't fall off, and cover the end of the tail shaft so your tranny fluid doesn't poor out.
Then you can correctly and safely tow your car.
it is seriously about 10 mins of work. and that includes the time to go find the nessicary tools, and to go find your jack and jack stands.
