Dropping the Starter
Dropping the Starter
I've got a quick and probably easy question for most people here. But...
How do I remove the starter from a 2.5L 84 camaro? It seems as if the engine frame is in the way. Is it possible to remove the starter without having to do anything else to the car?
Have mercy... :hail:

Just remove the wiring. ( lable the wires so you remember where they go). Remove the starter bolts, and you will be able to manuver it out.
BTW are you sure its not a 2.8

arent 2.5's the "Iron Duke" 4 cylinders
btw, no you just have to take off the wiring, then the 2 bolts, and you can manuever it out like stated above. This seems impossible at first but once you have the bolts out you'll see it's rather simple

Thanks guys you helped me a lot. I took another look at it and realized i had forgotten to remove the bracket holding it in
.
And i then looked in to the question about whether or not mine is a 2.8 or 2.5...
I did a search on my VIN and it does in fact say 2.5.
Funny thing though, i tried my VIN at this site and it told me my car was a z28... heheh i wish.
