Just replace the PCV and put that filter on the back of the driver side vale cover. PCV valves are only like 2 bucks.

Without the PCV you'll have oil dripping out the breathers after not too long. Oil vapors will eventually saturate the breathers and it'll start dripping onto the valve covers. Just replace the PCV valve- it's the only way to fly on a street-driven engine.

I agree. I had to dremel out the oil control baffles in my stock valvecovers due to the addition of roller rockers (this is a 302 but it still counts as an example), and so the PCV return was putting oil into my motor so I had no choice but to put a breather on, and I HATE IT... After about 3 weeks it becomes totally saturated with oil, and it's sprayed my valvecover, intake tube, and spark plug wires with oil splatters. I'm on breather #2 right now, about to go to #3. And they're costing me like $12 each.

The K&N "race breather" at Autozone is like $30!
