I get a strong fuel odor at idle. I am about to replace the filter in the canister and extend the hose that is tucked just inside the fender to another location so that the fumes have less of a chance to drift to the inside of the car. According to the Haynes Manual it is suggested to check the entire system back to the tank, a little difficult to do. Other than the gas cap, breaks in hoses etc. any simple suggestions or fixes?

Why is it difficult to trace the lines? You may want to PM Iroc and ask him to move this too.

Try tracing over the evap system.
