loose tranny makes banging noise
i dont know guys my car was fine (86 iroc z t-5 tranny) untill the other day all of a sudden it made some strange noise the when i went over bumps its feels like my tranny keeps hitting the bottom of my car. Now i dont know what to do guys also i think one of my motor mounts is shot. I dont know if it has something to do with the motor mount. I have no idea

trans mount or tq arm mount....my guess.
Might want to peek under there, just make sure it isn't bottoming out on something.

Easy to check- crawl under the car (properly supported, obviously) and try pushing up hard on 2 things:
1. Tailshaft of the tranny. If the tranny mount is ripped it will be obvious- the tailshaft will lift up fairly easily and the rubber of the tranny mount will be visibly ripped in half. Replace with a poly bushing- they last a lot longer than stock rubber ones.
2. Torque arm that comes up from the rear end housing. It fits inside an enclosed "M" shaped bushing inside a bracket sticking out the side of the tranny. If she's banging around in there on a worn out bushing it will likewise be obvious.
