Question about hooking up alternator!
Generator (heavy) wire to positive terminal on batery... check.
Sensing (red) wire to generator wire post... check.
Field (brown or black) wire...
Am I supposed to ground the field wire terminal (No. 1 spot on voltage regulator)before I start up the car? Also, the instructions list a 10 Ohm bulb and a resistance wire. Is the overall resistance about 150 Ohms @ 5W?
PS- This is the 3rd alt that I've put on this thing and it is due to me (I now know) having replaced the gauges and using the choke wire as a 12V source for the sensing wire with no resistance across it. I don't want to blow this one too after a few days...
------------------
1984 z28 w/ a 357 cu in. monster engine which is looking like the posterchild for Edelbrock with the exception of the Holley 750vac... all the suspension stuff... 9-bolt posi disk is in...
