Where do I go from here??

I posted a message a few days back saying my car won't start after the installment of a new pressure regulator kit. I've checked the the fuel pressure and the engine's getting pressure, so the fuel pump is ok. The distributor and plugs are getting spark, so that counts them out as being the problem. This leaves me to the injectors. I don't think they're getting a pulse from the computer. I still need to get a noid light to find out for sure, but assuming they're not working, what do I do? Do I need to get a new ECM? Maybe my computer's damaged or something. Please, help.

Use the very basic diagnostics for cars cranking but not starting.

They need 3 basic things to run, if one is missing, it doesnt run.

1. Compression.
2. Gasoline.
3. Spark.

Whether its a lawn mower, ***** or Shelby GT500 KR, they need these three.

I know that the car's not getting gasoline, but I need to know why. Is there anything I can do about the computer/injectors??

spray some starting fluid in the TB and try again. If it starts then dies, your definately not gettng fuel.

if your gettning pressure at the rail, but no squirt. then its either in ijectors or the ECM.

not likely that all the injectors are going to go bad at once.

You have anyfriends who's computers you can try ?

Thanks, Bort. I've sprayed the carb-cleaner in the throttle body and it started and immediately died like you described. I'm also getting pressure at the fuel rail, so I'm thinking it's the computer. I'm still going to check the injectors for pulse, then if there's no pulse, I may look into getting a new computer. Where should I look for a ECM, though? Should I try a junkyard? I'd like a new if it is indeed the computer that's the problem

You could try a Junkyard ECM and see if you can get it to start, im not sure howmuch that would run you.

I have Heard, However, That is a Better Idea to Go with a New unit. Im not entirely sure why, THo..

someone else will have to clarify that.

Alright, hate to say it, but it's about time for a few sticks of dynamite for my thirdgen...I got the new ECM from Advanced Auto Parts installed today and still had no start, so the car's condition remains the same. I don't know if all the injectors are fried or what. Please tell me if there's any connections that I can recheck that would make the car unable to start, cause I just can't believe that none of my injectors are giving the engine fuel. Please tell me where to look next.

Sorry, Im really out of leauge on TPI because I have no personal experiance.

But Make sure you have the injector's pluggged in properly, Im sure you have checked, but check again. Check the harness for Damage.

Check for Voltage at the injector's when cranking.

camarojoe, Have you checked the ground wires,
it sounds like the one to the injectors might
be loose. Hope this helps.
