Cooling fan switch....

After installing my headers on my 92 Camaro, I discovered that I accidently damaged the wires to a sensor. A long pin is on the tip of the sensor. A GM partsman informed me the sensor is a cooling fan switch. The sensor is between spark plug 8 and 6. I purchased the sensor. My question is....installing the sensor. Will water gush out after I remove the old sensor? The pin on the tip of the wire...Do I insert it into the sensor???? Help My car is overheating...

Yes, you'll loose some coolant - unless you're real quick and have nimble fingers. It won't be much, though. Just remove it and try to catch as much coolant as you can so it doesn't get all over the place. Put your new switch in and hook it up. You may have busted the connector for it and will have to get another, but it just snaps onto the switch...
