Service engine light???

when i turn my key on for accessories, but don't start the car the service engine light is the only warning light that stays on. but when i start the car it goes away. is this normal or do you think i need a new oxygen sensor?

BTF,

If you watch closely, you should actually see the MIL lamp go on briefly, then turn off briefly, then stay on until the engine is running. This means the ECM has passed some basic start-up self diagnostics and has a valid PROM installed in it.
