how do i tellif i have a LT4 hot cam or not

I bought a used hot cam on the classieds and matched it up with my friends old LT1 cam and they both look the same. the only difference in them is that mine has a shorter dowel pin on the end. I bought it off a guy that had it in a third gen z28. also, my cam has numbers on the front of it where as the LT1 cam doesnt have anything. Is there a way to tell other then the numbers. I want to put it in my 350 but I dont want to put in a regualer LT1 cam.

Get out your calipers and start checking lobe lifts. If the cam measures like an LT4 cam, it's probably an LT4 cam. Does the cam have all the little indexed milling marks on the areas surrounding the lobes? This is a typical GM cam trait in the Gen II engines.
