i think the vortech heads for $400.00 are bare. Why dont u go to a local junkyard, or classifieds and find an 88-91 Corvette alluminum head, have a 3 angle valve job and maybe some mild porting. I've done the same thing and spent $750 for my Vette heads all together.

Naw, brand new complete Vortecs are around $400-$440 ish here now for the pair. Used they often go for down in the $250 range. I have no idea what they are going to run over in Australia though, may be a lot harder to find and worth more. Got me.

For a 305 the aluminum L98 heads might be better since they will have the 58cc chambers, which are ideal for a the 305. The Vortecs however can easily be milled to retain the 305s compression, and even stock will outflow mildly ported Al L98s and should be cheaper...

BTW, there's no H in Vortec when talking about the GM heads. VortecH makes superchargers.

SDPC2000, too, has them cheap AND a Vortec Head Kit that they put together with 2 heads, Performer Vortec Intake, head gaskets, head bolts, intake gaskets, intake bolts (special for Vortecs!) and ZZ4-style rocker arms/nuts/*****. All for less than $680. now THAT is awesome!

Where on this sight can you buy the heads? Are you talkin' used ones in the classifieds, or new? I want some to. They seem like a real bargin. Maybe not for a 400+ hp motor, but for what I want them for.
