What are some of the surprises you've had in repairing your cars? One of mine is that the distributor is out of a mid 70's chevy truck.

How about a new "prefessionally built" 350 TPI engine in a Camaro that was actually........ a 305 with a mismatched set of 350 heads on it! Previous owner sold it to be becuase "it just doesn't seem to be as fast as I thought it would be." I'll bet.

Finding out that I had a fibreglass hood. Took the hood off for the engine swap, and it seemed unusually light...

Finding out your vin # plate and vin your car registered for is a 82 LU5 and the build sheet under the seat, the motor suffix codes and radiator tag say its a 83 LG4.

85- 87 16 inch IROC-Z rims on my 89 instead of the stock 15 inch IROC rims. Not much but I think its an upgrade.

Oh, how's about the factory radio stops working less than a week after I bought the car, and so I pulled it out, went to hook the new HU up exactly how the factory radio was, and as soon as I hooked the power up, I felt my leg burning where the new radio was setting. Turns out the previous owner's ex had decided to do some "upgrading" or crap and criss-crossed wires here and there, which would explain why the radio burnt up. I just started cutting wires. Hooked it up right, and never a problem since.

As it gets colder I'm needing my defrosters more and more. however, in the mourning if I pull into an intersection with the defrosters on the car will die, and it will die everytime you take it out of park, w/ the defrosters on. In warmer weather the defrosters act as cruise control. In really need them looked at.
