headers question

how much of a difference woulod a set of headers make on my 89 305 tbi?..would it be worth the expense?

By themselves, no. They will not make a huge difference.

However, without them, nothing else will make much of a difference either. That engine is alot like the LG4; it has a tiny restrictive exhaust system, all the way from the heads to the street; and probably the most pitiful excuse for a cam from Chevrolet ever to victimize the driving public. You can change those 2 things and get a massive improvement. However, without them, nothing else you do will make near as much difference as it should, because the engine's flow is so poor.

Get something like the Edelbrock TES for some other motor like a TPI 350, and a cat and cat-back to match; and something like a Comp 264HR cam. You won't believe how much HP you uncork, with no loss in gas mileage or emissions troubles.
