With new brackets can i reuse my 87 surp accessories on a 71 350 block with the accessorie mounting holes in the heads? I was wanting to go junkyarding and get the brackets, crank pully, and tensioner so that i could reuse all of my good condition acceries that are on my V-6.

i didnt know if there was anything different in the mounting of the A/C, PWSteering, and the alternaters should all be the same in mounting right?

Also i dont know the difference between a short water pump and a long, and what applications used what.

You will need all the bracketry from a V8 engine with serpantine setup. The pulley will have to be taken off the V6 Power steering pump, and the bracket switched. Everything else should work though.

 

Do the Surp equiped V-8s use a short or long water pump, thats in reference to how long the legs of the pump are right?

 

AFAIK, All SBC for a long time have used the long water pump. All the serpentine and v belt cars I have owned have had the long water pump on it.
