Oil Change Info needed

Hey all.
Last Sunday I changed the oil in my car, unfortunately I don’t have the owner’s manual so it’s kind of difficult to get specific info.
Can anyone tell me how much oil I should put in? One of the books I have says 4 quarts without the filter, that’s all I could find out.
The oil is a little over the full mark now but I am not sure how much I should put in.
I changed the filter too, filled it up ¾ with oil (around 200ml / 6.75 ounces) and then a little over 4 liters (~4.2 quarts) in the motor.
The car is a Camaro RS 91 305 TBI Auto with AC (no major mods).
Is this the right way to do it, does 4.200 liters (4.4 quarts) with a filter change sound right ?

Thanks.

D.

They say 4.5 quarts if you put on a dry filter. I put on a full filter and add roughly 4.2 or so quarts after that. You shoul dbe fine. Your dipstick will tell you when you are in the "okay" range. Just don't over or underfill.

Thanks Shifty.
I thought 4.2 quarts with a wet filter would be about right but I wanted to be sure.

Thanks again.
