with me using the junk stock heads, I would be happy with 350-400 HP I am gonna get some better heads as soon as my budget rebounds back from the price of the rest of it(which will be 8 or 9 months) but I will get there

It might crack 300 HP with some real good tuning, but I doubt it.

Those smogger heads won't do any better than that.

Horsepower is what sells cars, torque is what moves them.

I do have a question though, why would you put all that cash and time into what sounds like a decent engine, only to put crap heads on it?

because they are all I have and I broke the bank on the rest of it. It will run with the junk heads, although, not as well, but still it will work for now. I am disabled and on a fixed income and I had to save for a year and a half just to do what is done. I just wanted to get it in and working.

My friend had a 406sbc in his S10 with stock heads, a mild cam, weiand x-celerator i think, and a holley 750. He would race at an 1/8 mile track and well... "I have never lost to anything that didnt have slicks" Thats what he said. He also had slicks, a 3:42 rear, and TH350 tranny. 400sbc's are torque monsters, not so much horsepower. He could do a burnout all the way down the track on regular P295 tires. You wont be dissapointed.

Well, then maybe the best answer is, it'll make however much it's going to make, no more and no less; and nothing any of us here says, is going to make the least bit of difference.

Let us know what it dynos after you get it installed.
