will 87 L98 alum. heads bolt to 91tpi motor

I may be able to pick up a pair of 87 corvete aluminum heads for my 91z28 tpi motor
will the bolt pattern be the same on the heads as my intake. i know gm changed this but don't know what year. will they work. if not then what year aluminum heads do i need to look for

Doesnt matter what year, all the aluminum heads are the early bolt style so you will need to change the intake or grind away on it if you wanna use the aluminum heads.

What he means is that the center two bolt holes on the corvette heads are at a different angle than the intake. You will have to either grind down the intake to get them to fit or find a lower TPI Corvette intake.

that seems easy. my dad is a machinist and does that all day long. is that all i need to do. everything else will bolt up. will these heads offer more horsepower or should I just save MORE money and get better heads. I already have a LT4 HOT cam waiting to go in. the entire TPI system is ported and polished and gasket matched.

They won't really give you any more HP than stock iron heads. I would either send them out to port them or buy some good heads.

Ported, the aluminum L98 heads flow quite well... ask John Lingenfelter, who uses them on all his SBC buildups.

Make sure you check your clearances. The aluminum L98 heads are 58cc. The iron ones are 64cc.
