The #s are on every head, under the valve cover. The heads are (were at least, and should be) identical. No "driver's side" and "pass side", that's only where they happen to be installed.

are you sopposed to replace the valve cover gaskets every time you have remove the valve covers or is it only when they start to go bad?

depends greatly upon which kind of gaskets you have ....if they are the rubber ones you can usually reuse them a couple times

if they are the cork ones you might as well replace them they are cheap but you can get away with reusing them if they dont have sealer on the side that meets the head ....

when and if you do this the head casting #s can be found at www.mortec.com/castnum.htm
