fan wont turn off for an hour or 2 after car is off

fan wont turn off for an hour or 2 after car is off

hey i heard that this fan is called the "vapor lock" fan.....the hose is like near the carb and goes to a fan on the front right quarter panel......well anyway the stupid fan wont shut off for like 2 hours after i turn off my car.....is it supposed to do that???.....can i just take it off or does it acutally do something??

ya i have no idea what it is called
but thats what it said on a website that i went to.....but yah its annoying cuz it takes forever to shut off even if i only drive it for 10 min it still goes on for like 45 min to 2 hours

I'm thinking that's an aftermarket item, not a factory installation. You're on your own for schematics there, but I'd suspect a temperature sensor or relay problem causing the long run time.
