More details? Induction system, fuel system, ignition system. Does it spit and sputter and die, does it just shut off? If fuel injected, any codes? Have you checked the fuel pressure or fuel filter? Is the idle high enough? Just throwing some ideas around, but it will be impossible to tell anything without more details on the problem.

My car used to stall out a lot when I put it in reverse and when the wheel was turned all the way to one side. It ended up being a few vacuum leaks and once fixed, the problem went away.

Just a thought.

its carbed has a holley 600 which is pretty old ive replaced the jets and gaskets in it including the power valve, its has an accel ditributer with coil on top the block been bored .60 over. Ive checked for all vaccums leaks couldnt find any even replaced all the vaccum hoses with new hoses. It will back up everyonce in awhile and move but i will have to feed it a bunch of gas to get it to go anywhere its the same for drive also. um.... when it does die it just dies like the car being shut off. its just and instante stop but i can feel the wheels catch just before it dies, if i want to get it to move anywhere at all i have to rev it up to about 3500 rpm to get it to back up. idk if this helps out alot but if u can get anything from that thanx

Did you check to make sure the plug wires are connected to the right plugs?
