Help....wont stay running
I have a 1989 all original everything camaro, (besides tires, and tune-up parts) and I don't know what to do or where to start. I have replaced the fuel, air, PCV, oxygen senser, battery. Now all it did was ware down the new battery, I can jump start it, and when I do, it will stay running for about 15 minutes and stall out, and it will take an act of congress to get it running again. Okay, yea, I been mad at it and left it sit for about 4 months now, but, I am willing to give it another shot, and try getting it started again. Any suggestions on how to keep it running? No, I don't know anything about the carb. or the fuel injection system, really nothing just how to change the oil in it. So, please be easy, and specific. Did I mention the car has only 86,500 original miles on the original engine? So it is not like the car has been beat all these years, it has been very well taken care of...now it wants to act up. Thanks.

your alternator soiunds to be the problame. y didn't you replace that. thats the only thing that will keep a car runing if no batter is present.. and if your jumping it and it fires then just stalls probally cause the alternator just cna't keep the out put up

Go buy yourself a Haynes book and Chilton boook. You'll be ahead of most with those in your hands. Then follow the directions in either and remove the alt. and battery and go get them tested. You may also want to pull any codes if there is still any juice left.

Coil or CPU. When they get hot (like when they are running) and there is a small break in one of the windings, it seperates. Then it needs to cool down again to start. Happened to me.
