If you are putting a T-5 into a '92 car, the car for sure has electronic driven speedometer, that means no cable. If the tranny you are putting in has a cable output, simply yank it and replace it with a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). I just did that recently. You will need to buy the correct driven gear, based on the drive gear in the tranny tailhousing and your rear gears.

Post more info so that we can give you more detailed answers.

Unfortunatelly, the answer is No. I know, it sucks. But the sensor in the automatic is bigger (over 1" in diameter) and the sensor hole in the T-5 is much smaller, like 3/4" (can't remember much).

You have to buy a new sensor. They can get pricey. But definitely below $100. If you have a friend at a GM dealership, he can save you 50%.

If you need a part number, let me know, I should have one off of my sensor somewhere.

Sorry, no idea on the spline count.

But I got the part #'s for you!
The OEM # for the right speed sensor is 10456087. Be forewarned that the list price is somewhere around $95.
You can find it at other auto parts stores. For example GP Sorensen makes it under # 7799538.

But double check that you have the right hole in the tranny, i.e. under 1".

Just found one at NAPA: Echlin Ignition VSS or Advance Auto Parts (punch in your ZIP and it will show up).

Hope this helps.

while we are talking about the swap, when i peel back the carpet and theres that foam back with the holes in it for the master cylinder, is this in the exact spot where the master cylinder would be?

If your firewall is marked for (or already has) two holes for the clutch master, you are lucky. Mine didn't and I had to find the right place to mount it.
I would not trust the foam 100% but it's a good place to start. Check your measurements twice before you do any cutting because the master cylinder will be under a steep angle.
