Is there a current list if the smilies that are used. I know about the list in the faq's but if seen the smilie face doing a burnout and thought that it was cool.

 

That "special" smile is likely a *.gif graphic that someone linked into their post. If you have some web server space available, you can load an animated *.gif (or any other type of file for that matter) and link it in your posts.

Not ThirdGen tech, but somewhat tech nonetheless.
