Car won't start- no spark
Car won't start- no spark
My car is an 86 z28 with tpi. Yesterday, I pulled the kick pannels a couple times because I am building fiberglass ones for my speakers. When I was done, it wouldn't start. I thought might have discconnected something near the ECM but couldn't find anything lose.
I checked all the fuses.
I checked fuel pressure, which was good
I checked for spark by pulling a spark plug, cranking the engine and holding the plug next to a ground. I got no spark.
Also, I already tried to crank the engine before pulling the plug, but the plug wasn't wet with gas. Should it have been? If so, then I guess I have no spark, AND the injectors and pulsing, right?
My plugs, wires, and cap are about 3 months old. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks ~ Arnold

AB,
Do you hear the fuel pump run when the ignition is turned on?
I'm presuming the engine cranks, so the starter enable relay behind the left kick panel is operating.
Does the MIL lamp flash briefly then remain on when the ingition is first turned on (passing the POST tests)?
Does the ignition/ECM/fuel pump fuse check O.K. (near the battery)?
One of those should give you some direction.

The engine is cranking over just fine.
The ignition/ECM/fuel pump fuse checks out fine.
The MIL lamp flashes and then stays on permanantly. What exactly is the POST test? The only odd thing I noticed is that if I try turning the ignition again, immeadiatly after the first time, the lamp doesn't flash but just comes on. If you wait about 30 seconds, it will flash like normal. Is that normal?
Anybody else have any suggestions on what to check? Thanks so much. ~Arnold
