Buying a crank from ebay, help.

ok I have a 350 chevy in the garage. The guy I got it from said it was a roller motor. its a two bolt with these casting #'s 14093638. Im looking at a 383 crank on ebay, but im not sur if it is right. Roller motoers came out in 1987 right? I know this engine uses a one peice rear main seal, but the ebay advertisement stats that the crank "is for a one peice rear main seal 1989-98 roller motors." Mine is a roller but not a 89-98. Whats up with that?? can I use the crank? is the advertisment wrong? What is the difference between the gen I, II, and III 350's and what gen is mine? I dont want to blow 300$ please advise.

"14093638...350...87-95...2 or 4...Roller or flat tappet cam one-piece rear seal"

If the crank is as advertised, it should work.

Any particular reason you aren't just getting a complete 383 kit?

There's no particular reason for the years they listed. The '87 through '92 cranks are the same.

For the "Gen" differences, Gen I had a lot of differences as the years went by. Gen II is LT1 (and LT4). Gen III is the LS engines.
